I want to share my story, of my first astral projection experience.

My name is Adrian, I am 35 years old and I researched the subject of astral traveling and astral projecting for almost twenty years. When I reached eighteen, I read a book about astral projection which had me intrigued by the subject, and I continued reading and started practicing in order to have my first out of body experience. Then, one day it happened.

That day was almost like every day; I went to bed and went to sleep. I’ve slept for few hours and then I felt like waking up, but it wasn’t a real wake up. I have tried to move, but I felt like something is holding me back to the bed. I’ve tried to struggle, but still I felt like fifteen hands are holding me back and keeping me stuck to the bed. I felt like my hands are letting go and I can start moving.

I stood up, but it wasn’t my real body that stood up, because I could see my body still laying at bed and not moving. My head was full with thoughts, trying to figure out what is going on here and where am I. As I started scanning the room, I noticed that it’s the same room as my room, as nothing was different except for the fact that my real body laid there on bed, and I was out of the body.

I was on my astral body, floating around. I felt a little pressure on the higher part of my spine, and my vibrating body started floating in an enormous speed around the room, as a ray of light, just jumping around from one corner to the other without a purpose or a reason.

After astral traveling around the room, I returned to my physical body, it was like glue that unified the bodies together. I woke up few hours later with a clear memory of what happened. I’ve tried to remember the events that lead me to achieve this weird out of body experience that I had that night. Since then, I continued to study and read more, especially on astral travel for beginners, and I have realized and understood how to do it on a regular basis.

This story was my first astral projection experience. I wrote it because I wanted to share the feeling I had that time with everyone, as it’s not similar to anything I had until then. The out of body experience is just indescribable. I wrote only what I could deliver, but you must experience it by yourself, to understand what is it all about. This is why I wanted to share it with you. This was my little story, my little astral experience, my little secret.

EVP Electronic Voice Phenomenon Voices from the Dead

Electronic voice phenomenon, if true, seems to exceed the bounds of what is physically possible; thus, it is of paranormal origin. Colin Smith invented the term to describe speech or sounds resembling speech on recording media that has never been used.

Some researchers speculate that its origins rest in psychokenisis or the voices of spirits. Psychokenisis connotes the ability to move objects with your mind. It concerns the manipulation of matter and energy with just the mind.

Other researchers, more skeptical, point to pareidolia or radio interference. Pareidolia means that you mistakenly perceive images and sounds as being recognizable. A man in the moon, a face in ripples of glass windows, or hearing messages on records played in reverse are keen examples of pareidolia.

Most EVP sounds are in short, abrupt segments, usually the length of a word or phrase; sentences are uncommon, but not unheard of. The segments are frequently heard in the language of the listener.

A psychologist, Konstantin Raudive, conducted over 100,000 recordings under different conditions. His research amassed some conclusions about elements that all EVP sounds share. They used an altered rhythm compared to customary speech, were short in duration and resembled telegram-like speech, did not follow grammatical guidelines and rules, and several languages were heard over the space of a single recording.

Possible explanations, paranormal and non-paranormal, have been proposed and scrutinized by researchers and laymen.

A paranormal explanation, for example, is the idea that bodiless, ethereal spirits, in the absence of their own vocal cords, imprint their messages on recording media through some elusive method. Another is that extraterrestrials communicate, intentionally or accidentally, through some blip in space-time. The third most common idea is psychokenisis in which the subject is said to possess influence over matter with his mind. This term is popular in parapsychology.

Non-paranormal and scientific explanations include interference, pareidolia, capture errors, processing artifacts, and hoaxes. Interference is common when EVP phenomenon is recorded on devices that contain RLC circuitry. The sounds are, evidently, voices and sounds from broadcast radio sources. Capture errors are anomalies created by the overamplification of a signal at the time when it was initially recorded. A plethora of odd noises can result from it. A processing artifact is a sound that results from attempts to boost the clarity of an existing signal. I.e., frequency isolation, re-sampling, and noise reduction and enhancement can all conspire to create a sound that is artificially unique in comparison to the original.

Important researchers of the past and present are notable in the course of your further studies in electronic voice phenomenon. Some names to remember are Attila von Szalay, Raymond Bayless, Alexander MacRae, Judith Chisholm, Konstantin Raudive, Friedrich Jurgenson, Hans Bender, William O’Neil, and Sarah Estep. Many of these researchers made strides in exploring and popularizing EVP, but they don’t represent a good sample of current researchers. This is because there are very few researchers today. There are scant articles in peer-reviewed journals, but EVP continues to be ignored by scientists at large. Experiments have produced mixed results. Despite this, there are several organizations that collect research, articles, photographs, and other media that support the legitimacy of EVP.

In the end it is up to you to decide whether or not electronic voice phenomenon recordings are of paranormal origin or if they have a more mundane explanation.

Halloween – the festival that all children love! A time when kids have the chance to get free candies that are offered by their neighbors, namely “Trick or Treat.” It’s a well-known custom that is favored by every single child.

Halloween is certainly not a child’s privilege but also for adults to reminisce the good old days by gathering candies that were once their favorite when they were young. To know about Halloween’s history, we have to go far beyond our parents’ generation because the origin dates back to centuries ago, back into the days of pagan rituals; even before they have been made a part of the Church.

There has been various versions concerning the origin of its name, but no one can really be sure that their stories are right. A few suggested that it came from the Celtics who were celebrating a good harvest. What gave this festival the spookiness has to do with a myth. On this night, the dead would rise from their death and cast spells on the crops and the living people. This explains why people carve frightening profiles on pumpkins and dressed as terrifying spirits for Halloween nowadays.

When it comes to the tradition of trick-or-treating (the most enjoyable part of Halloween, really!), it is said that it has begun back in the Middle Ages. Back then, the poor would visit homes to pray for their deceased family and friends. In exchange, they would be given food.

If you think about it, we may possibly be able to see a shadow of those food in the sweet range of candies now given out to costumed children nowadays!

Occasionally, there are people who suggest new perspectives to the mystic festival that takes place during nighttime. Many believe that it came from England or Ireland. Somehow, to many Halloween-lovers, the history of the tradition isn’t what is most important.

What stays true is the fact that Halloween is loved by both adults and children. The dressing-up is definitely the most fascinating aspect. Frankenstein, vampires, Casper, zombies, you name it. They may just be the next one standing at your front door.

After all, you will be delighted to see the smiling faces of little kids under the most horrendous outfits, and be reminded of the times when you were those who had a great time living out the tradition of Halloween.

Ghost Box Experiences

Author: Jonathan Farrell

In recent times within the area of paranormal research, nothing has divided skeptics and believers more than the ghost box. Myself, being what I would class as a skeptical believer, had to try this device out.

What is a ghost box?

Modern day ghost boxes are simply modified radios that have been customized to continually sweep the frequency ranges without stopping resulting in a mixture of white noise and tiny snippets of broadcasting radio stations being heard. In EVP research it is often thought that a certain degree of background noise can help in the formation of disembodied voices coming through. In essence, existing noise can be manipulated to form words…..in theory anyway. The ghost box, tied in with the possibility of ethereal voices coming through on frequencies, seems to provide the perfect background noise for this type of manipulation. You are also able to hear voices in real time, not just on playback so technically this device can be classed as ITC as well as EVP.

My experiences…..

After watching numerous videos of other peoples work with this tool, I was absolutely astounded and excited at the possibility that some of the voices heard were indeed some kind of sentient energy trying to communicate with us but as I will advise with any paranormal device, it has to be personally tested to make any kind of true judgement. A year ago, I bought a ghost box and have used and tested it extensively to this day. My first experiences were simply hearing my name being repeatedly said every time I run a session but I soon adopted the method of using control questions where there can only be one possible correct answer to anything I asked. I would ask for things to be repeated, time and time again I heard the correct answer.

Obviously, there is a chance that the answers we hear are coming through naturally on the radio at the exact moment in time we ask the question. Maybe a co incidence, but over time, these co incidences mount up making it, in my personal opinion, probable that something is indeed intelligently communicating with us. As always though, it cant be proven either way but surely co incidence can only go so far before you start to look at other possibilities.

One example of a control question I asked was for any possible entity identify what object I was holding in the air. For this experiment, i filmed it so that the object was seen.

The video evidence can be seen here Ghost Box EVP

The object I was holding was a pen. I only expected to hear the word pen being said to me, but in the video, you can even see the brand of pen I was holding which was a Sharpie. After asking what I was holding, the response I heard back was “Sharpie Pen”! Does this mean that something could indeed see what I was holding or does it mean that the words “Sharpie Pen” came through naturally on an ever changing radio at the exact moment I asked the question?

Do I believe?

Through many hours of research and constant exact and correct answers to questions I ask, I believe that something intelligent can communicate with us through EVP and the ghost box, but what it is, is another question. I still wont rule out any natural answers to these voices but I feel it is more probable that something that is self aware is talking to us.

Until proven either way, every possibility must remain open!

Have you lived a past life? Do you really believe that past lives are even possible? And if so……how do you prove to yourself that past lives are real? In this article we are going to take a quick and easy look at how you can prove that you’ve lived before with amazing ease…..even if you’ve never believed that the human spirit can continue on from life to life. (Trust me…..it does…..and so too has yours..:-)

Step #1: Look for Deja Vu Experiences

How many have you had? Have you seen a place in your minds eye before you’ve ever physically been there? Do you have a strong sense, pull or PASSION for a particular place (or even era in time) that defies logical explanation? Many past life experts, psychics and researchers will tell you that there are parts of your personality which ALWAYS remember….and no matter how much time has passed, these experiences remain embedded in your spiritual unconscious. (so start here)

Step #2: Look at Your Dreams

Do you have precognitive dreams? What about dreams where ONE person in your present was actually ANOTHER person in your past? Many people believe that spiritual soulmates, for example….travel from lifetime to lifetime together, and that a ROMANTIC interest in this life could be a sibling – or even a super close friend in another. As a matter of fact, some of the BEST psychotherapy these days is done by past life and regression therapists and psychics, clairvoyants and mediums who SPECIALIZE in past life readings. (many present day problems can be SOLVED by venturing into the dynamics of past life relationships!)

Step #3 Analzye Your Fears!

Becausew many of the things you fear most in this life…..you’ve most likely been traumatized by in a past one. Have an irrational fear of water? Ask yourself why! Are you afraid of intimacy or love but NEVER been hurt before in this life? The chances are…..your PAIN goes back a bit further than you think! Look at your fears and ask yourself why. It’s a powerful process that if you really focus on…can reveal much more insight, spiritual information and authentic enlightenment than you ever expect.

Lastly…put all of this together and either talk to an AUTHENTIC past life guru or therapist…..or see a past life psychic, clairivoyant or intuitive. I did this many years ago as a complete and utter skeptic…and what was revealed to me TRULY blew me away. (plus it helped solve a whole bunch of fears, phobias and worries that I could never “fix”…and this made them ALL go away in a hurry once I recognized they were PART of the spiritual fabric of my soul…NO joke..:-)

According to legends, it is one of 9 sons of a dragon, which can distinguish between good and evil. It is sometimes included in the list of four noble animals, along with the Chinese dragon, phoenix and tortoise – instead of the tiger.

As a rule this animal is depicted having a few horns, green and blue scaly skin, hooves of a deer, the head of a dragon and a bear’s tail. In some aspects it resembles Western unicorns. Like the European unicorn, Chi Lin symbolizes longevity and prosperity. It is believed to live for at least 2000 years.

The Chinese believe that it is always lonely, and appears only during the reign of an outstanding ruler or when a great sage is born or dies; for instance, it was seen shortly before the birth and death of Confucius. It can only be seen by the chosen ones. It is considered a harbinger of happiness.

On his back, Qilin may have babies. Legends state that it brings extraordinary children from heaven. Like the stork in the European tradition, in China it brings a long-awaited heir to the happy parents.

It is also mentioned in connection with some important events in the history of China. For instance, five thousand years ago one Chinese emperor was sitting on the shore near the Yellow River, when he saw Qi Lin. The dirty water of the river turned crystal clear green. Chi Lin stood before the emperor, stomped on a rock three times, and spoke to the emperor in a voice similar to a temple bell. When Qilin turned to leave, the emperor saw magic signs on his back, and copied them. According to legends, this is how the first written language appeared in China.

The mention of this mythical animal goes back to the days of Confucius. Back then, it had a more peaceful appearance. When walking, it did not cause any harm even to insects (like the image of the Lamb in Christian mythology). When stepping on the grass it did not crush it. It fed on magic grasses. It could walk on water and fly. Carved on gravestones, it would protect from evil spirits, as well as accompany the dead to heaven. However, over time it changed its appearance and symbolism – once a symbol of peace and gentleness, it also acquired the features of power and strength.

In Feng Shui, Qi Lin symbolizes long life, celebration, magnificence, joy, wisdom, and famous children. It is a gentle, kind, and benevolent creature. It carries a mystical good omen. This feng shui talisman is believed to help facilitate the success of children. Chi Lin’s images or statues can help women who wish to have a child. The main function of this talisman in feng shui is the elimination of negativity, and to attract wealth.

If you want to place this talisman in your home, remember that this charm should face toward the exit. You don’t need to activate it; however, it “likes” to listen to folk songs and fairy tales, and this is supposed to make it work harder for its owners.

By Marlene Pardo

The three-storied home at 1140 Royal Street (Rue Royale) in the French Quarter is presently for sale for a cool $2.9 million, but for many years it stood empty and ruined. It was only back during 1832 when it was just newly built for its owners, Dr. and Madame LaLaurie that it was as beautifully furnished as it is now.

For two years Delphine LaLaurie, a Creole socialite, hosted lavish soirees that were attended by all the prominent citizens in New Orleans; however all that changed on a spring afternoon on April 10th, 1834 when an old Negress cook set a fire in the kitchen. Neighbors rushed in to save valuables, including the slaves and what they found confirmed their suspicions beyond their worse expectation.

After leaving the kitchen which was located over the carriageway building across the courtyard, volunteer firemen and other neighbors entered the main house in search of other slaves. They finally found them in the
attic area in a secret room, more than a dozen poor wretches, tortured, tormented and locked away where their screams could not be heard. Some were chained to a wall emaciated and close to death, a few were strapped to crudely made operating tables, and others squeezed into cages made for dogs. Human body parts were found in buckets.

The fire was extinguished, however the scandal that was ignited by an article published by the local newspaper, the New Orleans Bee telling of the conditions of the slaves and describing Madame LaLaurie as “the demon, in the shape of a woman” swept the city. Many remembered an event only a year ago when Delphine LaLaurie was seen by a neighbor whipping a young female slave, who in a frenzy to escape from her had fallen from a balcony and died. Rumors had it the child was secretly buried that night on the grounds of the home. It was not a difficult story to believe since by then the mistress of the house had a reputation for maltreatment of her slaves, which she justified as keeping them in control. Others wondered if this was Delphine’s way of exacting retribution for her mother, Madame Macarty, who was murdered on a Carrollton plantation during a slave uprising. At that time. a year before this incident, in response to reports of her ill treatment of the slaves, a judge ordered for them to be sold at auction and the LaLauries were fined, however relatives bought the slaves and sold them back to their mistress. Those outraged readers most probably wondered how many had been brought back to end up suffering such a horrible fate.

As the story circulated throughout New Orleans, the fury it stirred finally broke loose five days later and infuriated citizens of the Vieux Carre stormed the house and destroyed the interior. The LaLauries barely escaped with their lives and left the city, shortly thereafter setting sail for France, never to be seen again.

The house was not rebuilt until 1837, and even then it already had the reputation for being haunted. Ghostly apparitions, screams, moans and flickering lights finally drove the new owner out within three months of moving in, and he then rented it out to business owners. During the Civil War it was a Union headquarter and the stories of hauntings persisted, especially the sound of chains clanking coming from the old slave quarters. The house went through different incarnations, as a school, private apartments and by the 1920s it was a tenement where one occupant described seeing a man walking around carrying his head on his arm. Another apparition was that of a woman leaning out of a window.

By now the house was reputed to be the most haunted in New Orleans, and even though there were those that insinuated that many of the stories written about Madame LaLaurie and what had transpired on April 10th, 1834 were grossly exaggerated, making her a victim of yellow journalism, it is impossible to discount and explain the remains that workmen found while doing repairs to the house. From under the floorboards human skeletons were dug up, too near the surface to be part of a graveyard, and the bits of fabric and hair still found on the jumbled bones confirmed they belong to Negroes. Even more chilling was the fact that it seemed they were put in the earth during the early part of the 1800s. Some of the skulls had large holes in them, this and the fact that they were not buried in a trench confirmed this was not a mass burial due to an epidemic. Were these other victims of Delphine, secretly buried in shallow graves in the dead of night?

So who does walk the halls of LaLaurie Mansion? Is it Delphine LaLaurie paying penitence for her deeds, or is it her victims reliving their worse moments at her hands? Or maybe it’s both, and in that dark upstairs garret that’s been sealed away the victims are now allowed to exact their revenge in any way they see fit.
